WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A CPA AND AN IRS ENROLLED AGENT?
A CPA is a Certified Public Accountant and an accounting professional, who has met the state licensing requirements in order to earn the CPA designation through education, experience, and passing the CPA exam. An IRS Enrolled Agent (EA) is a federally licensed tax practitioner who has the unlimited right to represent taxpayers before the IRS.
One of the main differences between a CPA and an EA is that a CPA is regulated on state level, while an enrolled agent is licensed on the federal level. Due to those working as a CPA being regulated on only the state level, there are limits to their area of practice within their jurisdictions. A CPA is also trained in a wide range of different topics related to accounting, while an EA has knowledge of anything that is related to income tax, inheritance tax, estate, payroll, and non-profit taxation.

Dennis Eberhart Jr is the founder and owner of A.D.E. Accounting & Bookkeeping Services, LLC, located in Temple, Pennsylvania. A.D.E. A.D.E. is known to provide fast, personal and professional services by their customers and is known to be responsive to clients’ needs and can get the work done in a timely manner.
Dennis Eberhart Jr founded A.D.E. Accounting & Bookkeeping Services, LLC in 2017 after passing the Enrolled Agent test and receiving his IRS issued Certificate in December of the same year. Denny graduated from Pace Institute with high honors and his Associates Degree in Accounting. Denny has experience working as an Advanced Senior Accountant for 23 years and a supervisor for a CPA firm for 2 years before opening A.D.E. Accounting & Bookkeeping Services, LLC. Denny’s goal for A.D.E. is to provide individuals and small businesses within the community with tax and bookkeeping services, and assist clients with reaching economical solutions. Due to Denny being an Enrolled Agent, he can provide Bookkeeping and Accounting services locally and provide consultation services in all 50 states.
In his free time, Denny has served as head coach to his children's basketball and baseball teams, with more than 20 seasons from T-ball to Jr. Legion ball. He is also on the Board of his local youth sports athletic organization as the Treasurer. Denny is a family man and based his logo off of his children's initials—Ashley, Denny III, & Eric—and each letter is in their favorite color.
